Ireland beaten by Hong Kong in T20 opener
Ireland were beaten by Hong Kong in the opening game of their two-match T20 international series at Bready.
Opener Nizakat Khan struck 62 off 43 balls and captain Babar Hayat 49 from 31 as the visitors posted what proved an unassailable 169 for five from their 20 overs.
Ireland slipped to 24 for four in reply before Kevin O'Brien (32) and debutant Greg Thompson (44) led a revival, but the hosts fell 40 runs short. Aizaz Khan was the pick of the Hong Kong bowling with three for 10.
The second match takes place at the same venue on Tuesday.
