Injured jockey JT McNamara in "good spirits"
JT McNamara is reported in "good spirits" as he continues his rehabilitation from the fall which left him paralysed at the Cheltenham Festival in March.
The leading amateur rider suffered a first-fence fall from Galaxy Rock in the Kim Muir Challenge Cup and remains in the Spinal Unit of the Mater Hospital, Dublin.
A statement issued on behalf of the Irish Turf Club read: "As we approach the biggest race week of the year at Galway, much of the talk will no doubt be about the well-being of JT McNamara.
"JT remains in the Spinal Unit at the Mater Hospital in Dublin. He is in good spirits and is looking forward to his rehabilitation.
"His condition is constantly being reviewed by the Mater Hospital in conjunction with the National Rehabilitation Unit in Dun Laoghaire with a view to commencing his rehabilitation in the near future.
"His family would again like to thank everyone for their continued support and prayers."
