Tipp name unchanged side

THERE were no late changes or surprises from Tipperary last night, who named the same team for the All-Ireland SHC final that beat Waterford in the semi-final, WRITES Cliona Foley.

Noel McGrath scored 0-7 from centre-forward last time out -- despite being named in his usual corner-forward spot -- and it remains to be seen whether he is moved out to the '45' again, in a team that contains 12 of Tipp's starting finalists from 2009.

Corner-back Michael Cahill and half-forwards Gearoid Ryan and Patrick 'Bonner' Maher are the newcomers, but, positionally, last year's All Star full-back Padraic Maher is now at wing-back, Paul Curran is at full-back and former wing-back Brendan Maher is now starring at midfield.

TIPPERARY (SH v Kilkenny) -- B Cummins; P Stapleton, P Curran, M Cahill; D Fanning, C O'Mahony, P Maher; B Maher, S McGrath; G Ryan, Patrick Maher, J O'Brien; N McGrath, E Kelly, L Corbett.
