Slevin turns the tide for Meath

MEATH registered 1-7 without reply in the final 15 minutes to record their third competitive win of the campaign over Armagh.

A goal from Barry Slevin following a delivery by Eoin Marsh on 56 minutes proved the turning point.

That drew the teams level, 1-13 to 2-10, and the hosts then pressed home their superiority with a succession of points.

Armagh, who won the Nicky Rackard Cup last year, led by only 1-7 to 0-6 at half-time, having failed to make the most of a stiff breeze at their backs.

Meath upped their game in the final 15 minutes, with a previously subdued Steven Clynch getting off the mark on 49 minutes with the lead point – he went on to score five more.
