O Croinin class sinks Dublin North

Colm O Croinin was the star of the show in Belfield yesterday, as his tour de force from the middle of the field gave Colaiste Eoin an impressive victory over an under-strength Dublin North side.

Dublin North, who are still short of star players Ciaran Kilkenny and Cormac Costello, were playing against a blustery wind in the opening half, and a 1-1 salvo from O Croinin saw them trailing 1-8 to 0-1 at the interval.

With the breeze behind them after the break, there was still a chance that Dublin North could force their way back into the contest. However, despite a 59th-minute goal from Kieran Smyth, Colaiste Eoin always had too much and ran out comfortable victors.
