Monaghan hit their stride with decisive win over Sligo
Monaghan 3-12 Sligo 0-14
Monaghan saw off the challenge of Sligo in Ballinamore to retain their status for 2015.
Seven points separated the two sides at the finish, and that was a fair reflection of proceedings. Though Sligo's Keith Raymond notched 0-9, his performance was eclipsed by that of Brian McGuigan, whose seventh-minute goal breathed life into proceedings, while Kevin Crawley's display was also notable with seven points to his name.
Conor Boyle got the second goal after 39 minutes and McGuigan grabbed another in the final quarter, ending Sligo's hopes after Raymond had kept them in the reckoning.
