DAVID Moloney's second- half goal proved decisive as Limerick booked their place in the Munster intermediate hurling final for the second year running.
Blackrock star Moloney struck at the town end of Semple Stadium 13 minutes after half-time to hand Limerick a lead they would never relinquish.
Moloney finished from close range to hand Limerick a 1-9 to 0-10 advantage after fellow wing-forward Don Hanley picked him out with a superb crossfield ball.
Pádraig Hickey was Clare's star turn in the first half as he drilled over three of his five points from play as the sides went in level at 0-8 a piece at half-time.
Limerick had a fine spread of scores in that opening half as no fewer than seven different players registered points from play.
