McGourty quality enough to drag Gall's over line
St Gall's 0-12
All-Ireland ihc semi-final
St Gall's booked their place in Croke Park with a win over Galway side Tynagh/Abbey Duniry on a bitterly cold Saturday afternoon at Parnell Park.
Conor McGourty was the main man for the Belfast men, scoring eight points in all.
Declan Donnelly edged the Galway side in front midway through the opening half, but St Gall's scored five points without reply to go 0-9 to 0-5 up at the break. McGourty tagged on two frees early in the second half to give his side a six-point cushion.
But Tynagh weren't giving up and after three scores from Brian Cunningham and Anthony Burke the tie was very much alive.
Stewart sent over what would be St Gall's last score of the game with almost 20 minutes left as Tynagh went for it. They got within two points, but Gall's held on.
