McGoldrick turns on style to deny Cavan
Paul McGoldrick propelled Fermanagh into the semi-finals with a magnificent 13-point tally at Brewster Park.
The ace free-taker notched seven points in the second half after Cavan trailed by just 1-3 to 0-8 at half-time. The visitors played well in the first half but failed to capitalise on Jamie Rosney's third-minute goal.
Fermanagh went 0-10 to 1-4 ahead before Cavan defender Barry Devine received a straight red card. However, the Breffni men hit then form between the 43rd and 47th minutes, when a Gary Brennan point and two Kevin Downes frees levelled things, 1-7 to 0-10.
But with regular top-scorer Bernard Gaffney club-tied in his native Clare, Cavan failed to add to their account thereafter.
Fermanagh then notched nine points without reply in the final 20 minutes to firmly wrap up the spoils.
