McDermott sinks Creggan

Burt 2-10 Creggan 0-13

Fourteen-man Burt performed heroics to win a thrilling replay at the Athletic Grounds. The Donegal champions had skipper Ardal McDermott sent off three minutes into the second half, but sealed a memorable victory with Ronan McDermott's late goal.

Niall Campbell and Enda McDermott helped Burt to a 0-3 to 0-1 lead, but Aidan McKeown brought the Antrim men level in the 10th minute.

Burt gained the edge late in the half when Michael McCann drilled home a goal as they led by 1-6 to 0-7 at half-time. Creggan went ahead for the first time through Conor McCann in the 48th minute but Burt found another gear in the final five minutes and they sealed the title when McDermott blocked goalkeeper Stephen Colgan's clearance, sending the ball hurtling to the net.
