McCrabbe out of Dubs clash with Midlanders
DUBLIN'S hurlers will definitely be without corner-forward Alan McCrabbe for their Leinster SHC opener after the former All Star damaged his shoulder again in training on Tuesday night.
The Craobh Chiaran star looked to be fully recovered when he scored 1-10 in a club game last weekend, but broke down in training on Tuesday night and will not be risked against Laois in tomorrow's Leinster SHC quarter-final.
The Dubs are already without Ross O'Carroll, Paul Schutte and Martin Quilty and the suspended Ryan O'Dwyer, but have long-term cruciate victims like Conal Keaney, Tomas Brady and Stephen Hiney all back now.
Westmeath have kept faith with the starting 15 who beat Antrim by two points in their first outing for their Leinster SHC clash with Galway. The Tribesmen are not naming until tonight, but there is speculation that Joe Canning, who missed the whole national league with a shoulder injury, may not start after taking a heavy blow to it in a challenge against Clare last Monday.
Long-serving Galway defender David Collins is also a doubt after picking up an ankle injury in the same game.
Shane Roche's form has earned him a starting place for Wexford's footballers at the expense of PJ Banville. Roche was impressive off the bench in Wexford's league final defeat to Longford and Sunday's Leinster quarter-final rematch in Croke Park sees an enforced change at midfield, with Rory Quinlivan coming in for the injured Andrew Shore.
Fermanagh boss Peter Canavan has kept faith with full-forward Seamus Quigley for their big Ulster SFC clash with Down. There had been speculation that the big Roslea man would be dropped, but the only change in attack from Fermanagh's Division 4 league final loss to Wicklow sees Brian Og Maguire coming in at the expense of Eamonn Maguire, with Shane McCabe moved to top of the left.
Barry Owens returns to captain the team at full-back; Brian Cox moves out to replace the injured Ryan McCluskey at centre-back and Damien Kelly replaces Colm Quigley at wing-back.
