McCormack has final say to shock Lilies

Roscommon 0-15 Kildare 1-11

Substitute Shane McCormack turned out to be Roscommon's hero as his point a minute from time gave his side victory against Kildare in Moate on Saturday.

Fergal Conway raised the green flag early on for Kildare and they enjoyed a 1-5 to 0-6 interval advantage. But Roscommon hit a purple patch midway through the second half with points from McCormack, Joe Brennan and Robbie Fallon.

Gerry Keegan, Ryan Casey and Ross Bergin replied for Kildare, but McCormack had the last laugh to seal Roscommon's place in the final.

Armagh 1-6

Meath possessed too much pace, power and skill for Armagh in what turned out to be a one-sided semi-final in Inniskeen on Saturday.

Armagh opened the scoring with a point by Steven Reneghan in the second minute but it was one-way traffic after James Andrews opened Meath's account with a goal in the third minute. Cillian O'Sullivan hit a second Meath goal in the seventh minute and while Mattie Lennon pulled one back in the 10th minute, Meath led at half-time by 3-10 to 1-3, with Andrews getting his second goal in stoppage time.

Any slim chance Armagh had of making a fight of it was killed off with James Toher's strike eight minutes after the restart.
