Longford storm ahead

Longford 2-17 Warwickshire 0-4

Longford secured their place in the decider with a comprehensive victory over Warwickshire at Pearse Park.

The midlanders stormed into a comfortable advantage during the first-half exchanges thanks to two excellent goals from Cathal Mullane and Joe O'Brien.

The home side continued to impress throughout the first half and three points apiece from Gareth Ghee and John Newman put them well on track.

Last year's champions Warwickshire were unable to compete with their Leinster counterparts and the dismissal of Seamus Brough and Sean Hennessy at different junctures in the game killed off any threat of a comeback. Though 12 points to the good at half-time, Longford refused to show any mercy.
