Limerick ease through

Limerick 6-21 Laois 1-11

JOHN FALLON

Niall Moran blasted a hat-trick as Limerick brushed Laois aside in a one-sided qualifier.

Limerick did not need to repeat any of the intensity of their Munster quarter-final loss to Tipperary and they had this game wrapped up by the interval -- leading 2-10 to 0-3.

Moran set up David Breen for the first goal after 16 minutes and then blasted a second himself eight minutes later.

Shane Dowling, who had a 30th minute penalty saved by Eoin Reilly, hit five points as Limerick opened up a 2-9 to 0-1 lead after 31 minutes.

Sub Declan Hannon was involved in Limerick's third goal which was finished to the net by Moran after 54 minutes. And Moran completed his hat-trick a minute later.

It was no surprise when Limerick grabbed their sixth goal through Tommy Quaid.

Willie Hyland continued manfully to pull back some points for a demoralised Laois but Limerick finished off in style to set up another qualifier clash with Antrim.
