Kenny the hero for Kildare
Kildare 2-14 Meath 1-16
A last-gasp Conor Kenny point gave Kildare the title in dramatic fashion at St Conleth's Park last night.
Kenny had only got Kildare back on level terms for the first time since the 10th minute with a '65' in the 59th minute.
The senior star then thought he had won the game when he pointed an injury-time free, but Meath immediately responded through Mark Sullivan.
There was time for one last twist, though, as Kenny, from the right-hand touchline, sent a shot soaring over the crossbar and the Kildare sideline into delirium.
It sealed a memorable comeback for a Lilywhite team who won despite trailing by seven points at one stage during the second half.
