Kelly shines for banner

Clare 3-13 Tipperary 1-13

CAPTAIN Tony Kelly produced an inspired second-half performance as holders Clare advanced to the Munster minor hurling final with a six-point victory over Tipperary at Semple Stadium last night.

Kelly was majestic in the second half as the Banner County claimed victory with an unanswered run of 1-5 in the second half.

Eoin Enright's 15th-minute goal sent Clare on their way to a 1-8 to 0-8 interval lead, with Colm Galvin netting in the 38th minute. A brace of frees from Tipp's Liam McGrath cut Clare's lead back to six, 0-13 to 2-13, but Alan Mulready's late maximum sealed it.
