Kehoe Cup: Lilywhites begin title defence in style

REIGNING champions Kildare made a stress-free start to the defence of their title at Hawkfield with a shellacking of Roscommon.

First-half goals from Gerry Keegan and Martin Fitzgerald set the Lilies on their way to a landslide victory.

The home side led by 2-12 to 0-3 at the break and continued their demolition job in the second half.

New recruit Ray McLoughney, who has transferred from Tipperary, managed 1-7 in an impressive display.

Roscommon did not muster a single point from play.
