Jacob leads by example for WIT

Waterford IT 0-11
UCC 1-6

WEXFORD star Ursula Jacob gave a true captain's display as Waterford IT saw off spirited UCC to retain their title.

With Katie Power, Stacey Redmond and Katrina Parrock also in fine form, WIT produced a decisive surge of four unanswered points early in the second half to go five points clear.

Denise Cronin's goal and a point from Jill Horan narrowed the gap to the minimum, but WIT pulled clear again and held on.

In the Purcell Cup, a goal from Noelle Corrigan inside 30 seconds helped Dublin IT beat IT Tralee 1-5 to 0-5.
