Intermediate/junior camogie previews

Galway v Limerick

Intermediate final, Croke Park, 2.0

Limerick have a win over Galway already in the championship but it will matter for little today.

The Tribeswomen, keen to make amends for last year's final replay defeat, had a bumpy passage to this year's decider, recording a one-point win over Tipperary, while, for Limerick, their path was also far from smooth.

Galway have an impressive forward line of Orlaith McGrath (whose older sister Niamh lines out for the seniors), Katie O'Dwyer and Rebecca Hennelly. Limerick's defence, marshalled by Michelle Casey, Mairéad Ryan and Rebecca Delee will need to be in top form. The scoring threat of Dymphna O'Brien and Niamh Mulcahy makes Limerick favourites but Galway's experience last year may give them an edge.

Galway: R Callanan; T Kenny, S Healy, C Gill; P Kenny, S Noone, S Keane; A Callanan, C Cormican; K O'Dwyer, R Hennelly, M Cooney; F Keely, O McGrath, A Donoghue.

Limerick: S Moynihan; F Hickey, S Carey, J Mulcahy; M Ryan, M Casey, R Delee; D Fitzpatrick, K Campbell; C Costello, N Mulcahy, D Murphy; M Keating, M O'Callaghan, Dymphna O'Brien.

Verdict: Galway

Kildare v Laois

Junior final, Croke Park, 12.0

Both sides were top of their groups in the round-robin stages and have met twice already this season with honours even.

Kildare have made enormous strides in recent years, contesting the Division 2 League final to intermediate finalists Limerick earlier this season while for Laois solid league success has been the platform for an excellent championship campaign to date.

Sarah Ann Fitzgerald along with full-forward Niamh Dollard are two of the key players in an evenly-balanced side.

For Kildare, much of their scoring threat relies on Susie O'Carroll while captain Clodagh Flanagan is also a key performer. Kildare's greater experience should see them though.

Kildare: S O'Keeffe; J O'Donoghue, A Trant, N Concannon; F Trant, C Nolan, A Lyons; C Forde, O Bambury; C Flanagan, S Hurley, M Lyons; L Keatley, S O'Carroll, R O'Connell.

Laois: L Dunne; M Burke, K Cuddy, C Downey; A Dunphy, SA Fitzgerald, E Delany; C Walsh, E Mahony; J Dunne, D Quigley, L Mahony, S Burke, N Dollard, O Parkinson.

Verdict: Kildare
