Gould stars for Kinsale

Kinsale CS 1-17 Nenagh VS 4-7

KINSALE defeated Nenagh by a single point for the second time this season to claim the title after a thrilling final in Mallow.

Alan Gould led the way for the west Cork boys, with 1-8. He was ably assisted by Colm Daly and Daniel O'Leary.

O'Leary bagged four points as well as setting up his attacking colleagues on numerous occasions.

Nenagh had Barry and Tommy Heffernan to thank for most of what was good about their day's work as the namesakes grabbed 2-7 between them.

Mark McCarthy also put in a stellar display for the premier lads, notching up two goals for his efforts.

However, the day belonged to the Cork side and though the margin was tight, the result was a fair reflection of the day.
