Ger Rogan got off to a winning start

New Derry boss Ger Rogan got off to a winning start as his Oak Leaf team cruised to an easy victory over Armagh, who finished with 13 men. Declan Coulter was unerring from frees for Armagh early on, but a superb goal from Alan Grant meant Derry led 1-9 to 0-8 at the break.

Armagh's Brian Mallon received a second yellow when conceding a penalty which Ruairi Convery converted, before Paddy McCloskey added a third. Derry's Oisin McCloskey was sent off and with five minutes left, Armagh's Martin Maguire joined him.
