Forde helps Nenagh bridge 10-year gap

NENAGH CBS booked a place in the semi-finals for the first time in 10 years with a seven-point victory over De La Salle in Clonmel yesterday.

Nenagh were inspired by wing-forward Jason Forde, who finished with seven points.

Forde's haul included two glorious sideline cuts, while goals from John O'Brien and Eoin Hogan were supplied either side of half-time.

Nenagh led by just a point at half-time, 1-6 to 0-8, as O'Brien was rewarded for sheer persistence with a goal in the ninth minute.

With Nenagh leading by 1-12 to 0-10 approaching the finish, Hogan made sure of the win with a superb steal to set up a 58th-minute goal.
