Flood sinks Carlow

Dublin 0-22
Carlow 2-14

CARLOW came within four minutes of ending Dublin's championship ambitions at Dr Cullen Park on Saturday, before a late Dubs rally saw them home by two points.

Carlow started brightly, leading by 1-4 to 0-0 by the seventh minute, but once Cillian Moffat opened his side's account on eight minutes from a free, Dublin rattled off the next three points and by half-time were within a goal, 1-8 to 0-8.

Dublin forwards Danny Sutcliffe and John Hetherton caused continuous havoc as John Murphy's side went 0-16 to 1-9 ahead by the 42nd minute.

But back came Carlow, and with four minutes to go a Peter Shaw point put them ahead 2-14 to 0-19. But Dublin steadied the ship. Dean Flood levelled and a brace of late points from Flood and Aodhan Clabby booked a home semi-final with Wexford.
