Fitz downs Tribesmen

Tipperary 0-18
Galway 2-11

Jason Fitzpatrick was the Tipperary hero as he landed a remarkable free from inside his own half deep into injury-time to snatch victory in the All-Ireland Vocational schools SH semi-final.

The wing-back completed a late raid by Tipp, who only drew level in the dying moments thanks to a point from Michael Ivors, which seemed set to force extra-time in Ballinasloe on Saturday.

A goal just before half-time from Dara Hurley put the Tribesmen 1-6 to 0-7 ahead at the break, but five points on the bounce after the restart from the Premier County gave them a slight advantage.

Hurley netted his second goal of the game to give Galway a two-point lead, but a pair of Stephen Murray frees and the late dramatics sent Tipperary into the final as they bid for their 13th crown, having won the title just once since 1990.
