Fingal aiming for higher level

Fingal 3-22 Cavan 2-6

Fingal manager Willie Bourke has his sights fixed on his minor side featuring in more exalted company following this facile final win at Donaghmore/Ashbourne. Bourke's charges were 1-1 to 0-0 ahead after less than a minute before romping to a 1-12 to 0-4 lead at half-time.

"Eighteen of our panel of 31 are minors again next year so the future looks pretty rosy and hopefully they'll have the chance to compete at 'B' level next year," he said.

Stephen Harten's free got the Ulster lads up and running but the lights remained largely stuck on green for the north Dubliners after Colm Byrne's early goal. The Fingal scores came thick and fast, with Niall O'Callaghan and Kevin McLoughney a constant threat.
