Ennis leads way in Royal stroll
MEATH advanced to the semi-final with an impressive victory over a below-par Kerry in Tralee.
Inspired by full-forward Aaron Ennis, who scored 1-3, and James Toher, Meath had too much class, guile and strength for a Kerry team missing star forward Padraig Boyle.
An early goal by Ennis put Meath in the driving seat, and with points from Ciaran Fitzsimmons, Toher, Ennis and James O'Reilly, they led 1-7 to 0-4 at half-time, with Kerry's scores coming from three Shane Dunne frees and a Ricky Heffernan point.
Once James O'Reilly added Meath's second goal early in the second half, the outcome was never in doubt as the Royals, who hit 15 wides, won easily.
