Egan hits clincher

Four Roads 1-9
Corofin 0-6

The weather didn't claim all the sporting fixtures over the weekend and though it took a late change of venue, the All-Ireland junior club camogie final went ahead, much to the delight of Four Roads.

The game had to be transferred to Ballinasloe from Athenry and it was the Roscommon team who took the honours in a game that was in doubt until Gráinne Egan's injury-time goal.

Four Roads had most of the early play, but were unable to breach a defence in which Lisa Clancy dominated. But points from Sinéad O'Brien and Gertie Dowd gave them a half-time lead of 0-4 to 0-2.

Player of the Match Lizzy Glennon-Tully hit two fine scores from play to push the winners four points clear in the second half, before Egan's goal sealed the issue
