COLÁISTE EANNA 1-10 COLÁISTE EOIN 1-8 Niall Scully DUBLIN manager Humphrey Kelleher witnessed a riveting Coca-Cola Dublin Colleges Senior A Hurling Final at Parnell Park yesterday.
His Dublin colleague, Colm Mac Sealaigh, guides Coláiste Eoin, but it was the Eanna Eagles who soared for their first title since 2001 and the second time ever.
The Stillorgan side displayed tremendous spirit, recovering from 0-5 to 0-1 down after 13 minutes.
Eoin's bravery was rewarded as they edged into the lead in the 23rd minute when Ciarán Ó Fainin's cross from the left was tucked in by Cathal Mac Sealaigh, son of the manager.
Points from Conor McCormack, Simon Lambert and McGarry enabled Eanna to lead at half-time, 0-8 to 1-3, but two scores from Ó Murchú saw Eoin edge clear by a point in the 48th minute.
On 52 minutes, full-forward McCormack pounced for the critical goal to give Eanna a two-point gap.
