A hard-fought, sometimes fiery semi-final saw St Bren- dan's, Birr, overcome Castle- comer CS after extra-time.
With controversy surrounding at least five of the 33 scores, the Offaly school just did enough in extra-time, with Conor Doughan's second goal on 67 minutes the difference.
Having trailed by a point at half-time, Doughan's first goal came in the 43rd minute. His shot saw the sliothar hit the underside of the crossbar and bounce over the line to give St Brendan's a new lease of life.
Ballinakill club man Charles Dwyer hit 1-10 for Castlecomer, the goal coming from a 25-metre free in the first half.
Refereeing and umpiring decisions frequently had spectators up in arms, but St Brendan's now face St Kieran's College in the final next week.
