Dooley has 10 stitches
Shane Dooley has had 10 stitches in a wound following an incident involving Dublin's Peter Kelly in Sunday's National Hurling League clash in Tullamore, writes Colm Keys.
Kelly was yellow-carded after a blow left Dooley with a nasty gash that required immediate treatment.
Offaly manager Joe Dooley, Shane's father, expressed serious concern about the wound after the game, which Dublin won 2-23 to 1-13.
However, the player is not expected to undergo any surgery having had the stitches inserted at Tullamore General Hospital on Sunday night.
It is not yet clear if he will be fit to face Tipperary in next Sunday's fourth-round fixture. Dublin travel to Wexford in round 4.
