Dolan inspires Roscommon

Roscommon 1-17
Donegal 1-13

David Dolan fired over seven points to help Roscommon ease past Donegal in a drab encounter in Letterkenny.

The hosts struggled in the first half, but when Lee Henderson raised the green flag after collecting a sweet pass from Ciaran Mathewson on 23 minutes, the gap was back to two points.

However, Roscommon soon re-exerted themselves and as the half drew to a close, substitute Dara Mulvey beat stand-in goalkeeper Ryan Scanlon at his near post to make it 1-12 to 1-3 at the break.

As Roscommon took their foot off the gas, Donegal began to close the gap, without ever threatening a genuine comeback.

Kevin Campbell, who scored six points in all, drove the hosts on, while John Coyne and Enda Rogerson were on target for the visitors.
