The Waterford hurlers will visit English Championship club Reading to use their training ground this weekend after boss Davy Fitzgerald made a trip to Berkshire to inspect the facilities on offer.
Waterford man Noel Hunt plays for Reading and his club colleague, Shane Long, a former Tipperary minor hurling star, was hoping to puck around with the Deise this Sunday.
Alas, the Reading first team will be absent as they have away games on Saturday and next Tuesday and are staying in Nottingham in between those fixtures.
"I was supposed to be going out training with them on Sunday, but I think we're staying up in Nottingham (after Saturday's game) as we have Scunthorpe away on Tuesday," said Irish striker Long.
"I met Davy Fitzgerald during the week and told him a few times that I was shouting at him down from the stands playing for Clare v Tipp.
"He came over to check the place out and organise a few things. I had a good chat with him and he's a top man to be fair.
"I wouldn't know many of the Waterford lads. Noel (Hunt) would know them being from Waterford. Tipp played against them a few times, so I'd know of them."
