date for nhl re-fixed tie
The Tipperary-Kilkenny NHL tie, which was postponed due to snow on Saturday night, will be played in Thurles tomorrow night (8.0).
The counties agreed to the re-fixture within minutes of the decision to call off Saturday night's game and it means that they will face two games in six days. Tipperary play Dublin next Sunday while Kilkenny take on Offaly.
This is the second successive year that Kilkenny's first league game of the season has fallen victim to snow. They were on their way to Pearse Stadium to play Galway last year when road conditions forced them to abandon the journey.
Six other games, including the All-Ireland club football semi-final between Corofin (Galway) and St Gall's (Antrim), were victims of the weather yesterday.
The games called off in the NHL were: Laois v Kildare in Division 2; Armagh v Mayo in Division 3A; Fingal v Wicklow in Division 3B; Monaghan v Fermanagh in Division 4, and Longford v South Down also in Division 4. Details of the re-fixtures will be announced today.
