Cream rises to top league

John Greene

What are the odds that last Sunday's football league final and today's hurling league will be replicated in September?

Certainly this year's league has brought the cream to the top in hurling at least. At this stage, a Kilkenny-Tipperary pairing in the All-Ireland final looks odds-on.

Kilkenny, even in the absence of Brian Cody (pictured), continue to look awesome, while in Eamon O'Shea Tipperary have a manager who will have his squad primed.

Who is going to emerge from the pack to challenge either of these two sides?
