Corduff prove too classy

Corduff 2-7
Swanlinbar 0-8

Corduff had too much in reserve for Swanlinbar in an entertaining decider at Breffni Park -- and they would have won by a bigger margin but for some poor shooting.

Cathal and Shane Connolly, Declan Larkin and Raymond Byrne were outstanding for Corduff, although Swanlinbar held a one-point lead in the opening 10 minutes. Corduff got off the mark, however, and led at half-time by 1-4 to 0-3, Shane Malone with the goal in the 18th minute. In the second half, Swanlinbar reduced the deficit to three points, but once Corduff sub Padraig Keenan crashed a goal to the Swanlinbar net within seconds of his introduction in the opening minute of the final quarter, they were home and dry.
