Cool Hennessey picks off Longford

WARWICKSHIRE avenged their league defeat to Longford by producing a storming second-half display in Birmingham.

Sean Hennessey was the star of the show with a clinical display of finishing. He hit a final tally of 1-11, the goal coming from a penalty.

Longford recovered from a slow start to hit the front midway through the first half with Joe O'Brien's goal. The Exiles fought back, however, before Hennessey blasted home a penalty five minutes into the second-half.

Both sides were reduced to 14 men as Brendan Stakem and Donncha Kennedy were sent off for an off-the-ball fracas but Warwickshire held their nerve and Chris Brough and substitute Dwayne Sheedy slotted insurance scores.
