Conway inspires Kildare romp

Kildare 2-15, Carlow 0-2

Fergal Conway bagged 1-7 as Kildare waltzed into the semi-finals with a demolition of Carlow at Dr Cullen Park on Saturday.

Carlow were fielding a development side, so it was genuinely men against boys as the physique and experience advantage of the Lilywhites shone through -- Carlow failed to score from play.

Conway was in top form, 1-3 of his haul coming from play, as the visitors led by 0-6 to 0-0 at half-time.

The Kildare goals came in the 50th and 60th minutes from Conway and substitute Ryan Casey.

The winners maintained control throughout all sectors of the field but their true merit will only be judged against much stronger opposition.
