Convery strike lifts Derry
Derry 1-13 London 0-10
Ruairi Convery's goal from a long-range free that carried to the net proved pivotal to Derry's victory at Celtic Park.
The Exiles were left to rue a raft of missed goal chances including a spurned penalty from goalkeeper John Grealish and a first-half red card for wing-back Stephen Frawley.
In the opening minutes of the second half the extra man saw Derry streak into a 0-9 to 0-5 lead thanks to two Ruairi Convery frees and points from half-time subs Chris Convery and Jonathan O'Dwyer.
The decisive moment came on 58 minutes when Grealish allowed Convery's long-range free to slip through his grasp and drop to the net.
