Cody's break for Ballyhale

Kilkenny have decided not to call on their Ballyhale heroes for today's game against Dublin in Parnell Park. Henry Shefflin and Co have been given some time off from hurling. This break will allow them some well-earned rest and will also give the current crop of players an opportunity to try to impress the management.

Despite consecutive defeats by Tipperary and Cork and the loss of JJ and PJ Delaney to injury, Brian Cody has decided to pick the starting 15 from his existing panel.

Last Sunday, the Rebels struck a blow to the usually impenetrable Cats, executing revenge for last years 27-point defeat. Cody has made six changes to the team which started the game in Pairc Ui Chaoimh. David Herity will line out in goals, John Dalton comes in at corner-back with James Ryall and Paddy Hogan coming in at wing-back and midfield. Derek Lyng gets the nod ahead of Willie O'Dwyer and Michael Rice replaces the suspended Michael Grace.

Dublin are in the relegation zone after suffering defeats to Offaly and Waterford either side of their victory over last year's finalists Tipperary two weeks ago. Anthony Daly's men will need a miracle to inflict a third straight defeat on Kilkenny.
