Clinical Kavanagh guides Laois home
Laois Schools 2-13 Dublin North 2-8
Mark Kavanagh helped himself to an 11-point haul in his home grounds of Kelly O'Daly Park, Rathdowney as his Laois Schools side overcame Dublin North.
Stephen Bergin's goal two minutes before the interval gave Laois Schools a five-point lead approaching the break, but late points from AJ Murphy and Eoin Conroy cut the deficit to within a strike at half-time.
Dublin North levelled four minutes after the restart through Eoin Ó Conghaile's goal, but any notion of a Dublin revival was soon put to bed as Laois Schools' eight-minute blitz saw them rack up 1-5 without reply, Bergin grabbing his second goal of the day.
Dublin North's strong final quarter saw them grab their second goal through Seán Ó Riain but Laois held strong with a further three points from the ever-reliable Kavanagh.
