Clancy leads Lucan mauling

Dublin camogie received a timely boost with Lucan Sarsfields' success at Cusack Park in the Division One final.

Goals win games and Lucan's ability to execute proved crucial.

A five-goal salvo in the first half -- the first three coming in the opening five minutes -- rattled Tipperary champions Burgess-Duharra.

The goalscorers in the first half were Sarah Boland (2), Aoife Clancy (2) and Amy Conroy to put Lucan 5-1 to 0-2 ahead at the interval.

Little changed in the second half as Burgess improved their performance but could not score, despite a spirited rearguard action.

The only goal of the second half went to Charlotte Rooney as Laura Morrissey and Orla Beegan added Lucan points to spark celebrations.
