Campbell earns Burt replay

Burt (Donegal) 0-10 Creggan (Antrim) 0-10

Burt and Creggan must meet again after this interesting and at times exciting final in Clones yesterday.

A point by Niall Campbell from a free two minutes into stoppage-time gave Burt a second bite at the cherry in a game where they had led from the start until the 28th minute of the second half when Creggan took the lead for the only time in the match.

Both sides played the entire second half with 14 players following the dismissal of Enda McDermott of Burt in the 25th minute of the first half and Creggan's Sam Maguire in the second minute of injury-time.

Burt were the dominant team for most of the game. They led at half-time by 0-6 to 0-2, Niall Campbell hitting four of those points.

The game was much livelier in the second half with Creggan carrying the game to the opposition for long spells.

Three points separated the sides entering the final 10 minutes with Creggan then hitting a purple patch that saw them register four unanswered points between the 22nd and 28th minutes to come from being three in arrears to taking the lead.

Going into stoppage-time it looked as if Michael McCann's lead point would be enough but Burt redoubled their efforts and Campbell struck to keep them in the hunt. The replay takes on Sunday, November 20 at a venue to be confirmed.
