DAMIEN CAHALANE is set to swell the ranks of Cork's dual players to three.

Eoin Cadogan and Aidan Walsh have already decided to rejoin the county hurlers after playing exclusively for the Rebels' footballers last year, and now Cahalane, who is currently recovering from double hip surgery, has also committed to playing both codes this year.

The beaten All-Ireland hurling finalists will begin their season with a challenge match against UCC in the Mardyke tomorrow week.

Injuries look set to deprive them of All Star Seamus Harnedy, Pa Cronin, Conor O'Sullivan and Paudie O'Sullivan at the outset. Paul Haughney (Midleton), Michael Cahalane (Bandon) and Brian Lawton (Castlemartyr) are among their newcomers.
