Brennan brace inspires exiles

London 2-20 Armagh 0-11

Eleven London players got on the scoresheet as Armagh were handed a thumping at Ruislip.

The Exiles fired an unanswered 1-6 in the opening 15 minutes, and they were out of sight by the interval, leading 2-12 to 0-1.

Kilkenny native Eddie Brennan grabbed both goals, his first coming inside two minutes from Enda Cooney's lofted ball.

The London midfield and half-back line dominated proceedings, which resulted in a constant supply line to their forwards, where Cork's Patrick Sloane was in menacing form.

Yet despite their high tally, London were wasteful in front of goal, racking up 20 wides. They got a second goal a minute before the break when Armagh 'keeper Paddy Heaney could only parry Cooney's sideline puck to Brennan.

London took their foot off the gas in the second half, and Donal Carvill and his brother Cathal took Armagh into double figures.
