Breheny Beat: Ladies show way for wexford

A long-suffering Wexford supporter, who pines for the days when the Model hurlers were a competitive force, texted me from holidays in Portugal on Sunday evening after watching the camogie team complete the three-in-a-row: "Wish our men had the same bottle."

A bit harsh since there's no real evidence to suggest that the current Wexford hurling team aren't as brave as their rivals. The big difference of course between the hurling and camogie team rests in the depth of the talent pool, which raises the question -- why have Wexford ladies got it and the men haven't? No doubt, Liam Dunne would love to find the answer.
