Bellew leads Cats destruction

LOUTH 6-34 KILKENNY 0-2

LOUTH ran out winners by an enormous score when blasting Kilkenny out of the water at Ballyragget last night.

The winners ran up their entire score from play as they destroyed a team that was only thrown together shortly before the match.

Louth play Longford in the next round, but really this game was of little or no use to them.

The winners were in devastating form from the start. With top-scorer Cathal Bellew, William Woods and Brian Berrill scoring at will they ran up a 1-21 to 0-0 lead by the interval.

Kilkenny had their first score in the 33rd minute when Brian Byrne pointed.

The winners brought on a batch of subs and all got in on the act as the Cats were demolished.
