Barry the difference

Blackwater CS 1-14
DLS waterford 2-6

Five points each by Ray Barry and Stephen Bennett helped Blackwater Community School from Lismore to victory at Fraher Field against fellow Waterford college -- and two-times winners -- De La Salle.

With a stiff wind behind them, the city side looked to be the better side in the opening half and, helped by a Tom Mullally goal just five minutes into the game, led 1-5 to 0-4 the break.

However, Blackwater dominated the second half and ran out easy winners, with Peter O'Keeffe goaling just after the restart and three Barry points in a minute sealing it.
