Bailie points the way for Down
Down 0-18 Antrim 1-12
DOWN's strong second-half showing at Casement Park landed the provincial title for the first time since 1994.
They outscored Antrim by eight points to two in the second half of Saturday's replay, holding them scoreless for the first 23 minutes after the break.
Caolan Bailie was the hero, scoring 13 points, in a magnificent display of placed-ball striking.
The Ballygalget youngster scored 11 frees out of 12 attempts and also contributed two points from play in what his manager Fergus Cooper called "the perfect performance''.
Antrim went ahead through Christy McNaughton's seventh-minute goal and they led by 1-9 to 0-10 at half-time.
However, Down soon took control.
Bailie put them ahead for the first time nine minutes into the second half and they kicked on from there.
