Aylward raids Orchard

DCU 2-16 Armagh 1-7

DCU overcame a ferocious start from Armagh to record 12-point win.

The Orchard County, playing with a strong breeze in the first half, struck for the game's opening goal through Ryan Gaffney.

DCU responded through James Divilly, and battled their way to a one-point interval lead. With the wind now favouring the students, Armagh found themselves under incessant pressure in the second period.

DCU rattled off seven points in a row and Mark Aylward finished it as a contest when he smashed the ball to the net.
