All one-way traffic as Portumna block off Four Roads

Portumna 2-22 Four Roads 0-6 Connacht SHC Final IT WAS all one-way traffic for Portumna in yesterday's Connacht club hurling final at Athleague.

Inspired by David Canning, Damien Hayes and Kevin Hayes, Four Roads had no answer to the swiftness and quick movement of the Galway champions.

A fine Joe Canning goal in the 18th minute left them 1-8 to 0-2 in front and the outcome was well and truly beyond doubt at this stage.

A Niall Hayes goal 10 minutes into the second half put 13 points between the sides and from here to the final whistle it was a procession. Joe and David Canning and Damien Hayes reeled off points from all angles with only Tomas Lennon, Micheal Mulry and Brendan Kelly offering any resistance for Four Roads.
